New Hampshire is a small state in New England that borders Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine. It also shares a smaller stretch of border to the North with Canada. New Hampshire is the fifth smallest state in the United States, and ranks 42nd in population. Concord is the capital of New Hampshire, while Manchester is the largest city in the state.

People living in New Hampshire have a reputation for having an independent streak, as well as enjoying the outdoors. The state has a great deal of granite deposits and quarries, which is why it is nicknamed “The Granite State.”

Schools in New Hampshire that Offer a Master of Public Administration

In New Hampshire, there are limited options when pursuing a Master of Public Administration. The only program available is at the University of New Hampshire, but it is not accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. There are, however, online options available that are accredited. As a result, those in New Hampshire, or anywhere for that matter, who wish to pursue an MPA through an accredited program do have options.

The University of New Hampshire is a public university that was established in 1866 and currently has approximately 12,000 undergraduate students and more than 2,000 postgraduates. It is located in Durham, New Hampshire on a rural campus. UNH is the largest university in New Hampshire, but also has one of the most expensive in-state tuitions for a public college. It is considered one of the best entrepreneurial schools in the country.

For those who prefer to earn their Master of Public Administration from a program that is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, there are many online options that might be a good fit. While online degrees used to be looked down upon as lesser educations, that is changing a great deal as more and more reputable universities offer them. In addition, since New Hampshire is a small state, residents may be able to commute to universities in Vermont or Massachusetts for a better MPA program.
