Public Administration in Montana
Montana is the fourth largest state in the United States, but only the 44th most populous. That leaves it 48th in terms of population density. Helena is the capital of Montana, while Billings is the largest city. Montana was the 41st state accepted into the Union back in 1889.
Montana is home to many ranchers and farmers, and the state as a hole sees its economy hinging on oil, gas, coal and hard rock mining.
Most tourists who travel to Montana do so for camping or hiking expeditions through either Glacier National Park, the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and Yellowstone National Park .
Yellowstone National Park is probably what Montana is best known for, but it does also stretch into Wyoming and Idaho. Yellowstone is a beautiful example of some of the pristine beauty of the United States where it still remains untouched. Old Faithful Geyser is the centerpiece of the park, but it is located in Wyoming.
Glacier National Park is in Montana entirely, with more than one million acres included in the park. It consists of 130 named lakes, two mountain rages and beautiful, original, natural sights and scenes. Due to the rugged nature of the national parks in Montana, they have a wide variety of wildlife, including hundreds of different types of animals.
As a result, visitors from other areas of the country have to be on alert for some of the more dangerous species of animals in the area.
Montana is known as “Big Sky Country,” and “The Treasure State.” Both paint mental images of the wide open spaces there.
Schools in Montana that Offer a Master of Public Administration
Unfortunately, there are no Master of Public Administration programs in Montana, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration or otherwise. As a result, residents may wish to pursue the degree online or to head away to school.
Fortunately, there are online programs that are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. That means that Montana residents do have a fallback option to pursue their Master of Public Administration.
In addition, taking the courses online can be more conducive to a busy schedule or give people a chance to learn in the comfort of their own home, which some find advantageous.
