National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA)The National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) was formed in 1983 as a way to advance and promote leadership for Blacks in the public forum. Their efforts make a significant positive impact on state and local governments. This nonprofit organization is nonpartisan, and independent, and was developed as a way to implement designed development initiatives to enhance quality leadership.

NFBPA has over 2500 members actively involved in managing agencies and public programs nationwide, in over 350 jurisdictions. With the support of 40 chapters, membership at the local level is encouraged.

As a highly recognized progressive organization specifically designed to advance Black leadership in a public forum at both the state and local level, NFBPA is a powerful network. Its success is built on the quality of its members all across the nation that continuously contribute their experience and ideas.

Through active membership, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators has been able to develop critical improvements that have positively altered the practice of leadership in public administration.

As the ideal location for networking, the Career Center at NFBPA provides the opportunity for individuals to find a job, and employers to locate the ideal candidate. Employment seekers can find a wealth of employers eager to hire qualified candidates that show true leadership in public administration. The Career Center also provides an enriching opportunity for employers seeking to find qualified candidates easily.

National Forum for Black Public Administrators – A Dynamic Organization

NFBPA serves as the ideal organization for blending academic, private and public institutions through an essential network community. The organization is designed to enhance interdisciplinary communications, professional development and innovative management processes that can be utilized by Blacks with careers in public service.

The efforts of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators helps to expand, strengthen and promote the leadership roles of Blacks at every level of public administration.

The organization offers memberships to many of the professionals involved in public service. They also offer an associate membership that is designed to include the faculty, deans and graduate students of high level education that are directly involved in research and learning public administration. Additional members include executives that are active in administration in the private sector in nearly every discipline that is directly represented in local and state governments.

Through a dedicated effort, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators continues its commitment to enhance and strengthen Blacks involved in the public administration field.
